VALUES TECHNOLOGY

GENOS EI

What is Values Technology?

A Technology system used to identify universal core Values.  The process uncovers deeply rooted values, which exposes the behaviors an individual uses to make choices and decisions.

Values are consciously chosen priorities, reflected in human    behavior and language.  They are what gives meaning to a person and drives and motivates them in their life.   They determine where our energy goes and the order in which we expend it.
Understanding ones' values allows us to understand why we do what we do, how much energy we expend towards personal tasks and events in our life.
As a result of the research of many people, but most specifically of Brian Hall and Benjamin Tonna, and the Hall-Tonna (HT) values theory, it is now possible to not only systematically identify a person's or organization's values, it is also possible to measure them, and develop valid ways of presenting them.
The Hall-Tonna work had identified 125 universal values, divided into Goal and Mean values.  Usually, each of us lives on a cluster of about 15 values. On a daily basis we operate on no more than half dozen values, which make up our FOCUS VALUES.
Through the 125 Questionnaire - which takes approximately 45-60 minutes to answer, a complete values profile is painted.  It explains FOUNDATION, FOCUS and VISION values in the context of eight stages of development.  It creates learning around various life Transitions: one- GENESIS, Transition two- GRAND and thirdly- OMEGA.  It provides a wealth of information which extends to the understanding of 5000 behaviors which are a result of the values we host in our lives.

What is Emotional Intelligence?

Is a set of abilities to do with emotion and the processing of emotional information.
-capacity to identify and express emotions
-the capacity to effectively regulate and manage emotions, and
-the capacity to utilize or reason with emotional thought

The Genos model of emotional intelligence is a "competency" model.  Genos defines emotional intelligence as a set of skills that define how effectively we perceive, express, understand, reason with and manage our own and others feelings.
Research conducted has shown that EI correlates with variables such as:
productivity and performance
interpersonal effectiveness and the quality of workplace relationships
leadership capability
negotiating skills
teamwork effectiveness
